We aim to reply within two business days (New Zealand time). It helps a lot if you include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the name of the spot or screen involved.

Conditions or tides look wrong for my spot
Check which spot the conditions are for — tide predictions are per spot, so a nearby harbour and an offshore mark can read very differently. If a spot still looks wrong, email us its name and what you expected.
Nothing appears on the map, or my location is missing
Gannet is built for New Zealand waters only. Outside NZ the map still works, but tides and conditions won’t populate — pan to a NZ location to see them. If you’re in NZ and nothing loads, check Settings → Gannet → Location on your iPhone.
I subscribed but the features are still locked
Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you purchased on, then reopen the app. If it still doesn’t unlock, email us with the date of purchase and we’ll sort it out.
Your data
Your trips, marks and catches are yours. From inside the app you can:
- Export everything — a complete copy of your data as a file you keep.
- Reset the app — erase your data from the device. This cannot be undone.
- Delete your account — removes your account and everything synced to it, including catch photos, from our servers. Find it under Profile → Account & data.

Spotted a fishing rule that looks wrong?
Please tell us. Gannet carries bag limits, size limits, seasons and closed areas for New Zealand, and we check them against Fisheries New Zealand — but rules change, and local bylaws vary. If a number in the app doesn’t match what you’re reading on mpi.govt.nz, email us the species, the area and both figures. We treat these as urgent.
Always verify before you fish. The rules in Gannet are a convenience, not a legal authority. Fisheries New Zealand is the official source, and the responsibility for what you keep is yours.
Safety
Gannet is built for trip planning and logging — it is not a navigation or safety device. Keep proper charts, a marine forecast and safety gear on board, tell someone your plan, and make your own call before you cross the bar.
